OneDrive Automation for Forminator Forms

A fully automated WordPress plugin that syncs form submissions, uploaded documents, and applicant data directly to Microsoft OneDrive and Excel — with zero manual effort.

Project Overview & Client Challenges

The client was running a high-volume student registration system where every form submission required staff to manually download uploaded documents such as national ID, passport, payment slips, and signatures.

They also had to create individual folders for each applicant and enter applicant data row by row into Excel. This manual process consumed 20–30 minutes per applicant, caused frequent human errors, and became difficult to track as application volume increased.

The client needed a reliable automated system that could save time, reduce mistakes, and maintain a proper audit trail for every application.

Provided Solutions

I built a custom WordPress plugin from scratch that integrates directly with Forminator Forms and automates the complete submission workflow in the background.

As soon as a form is submitted, the plugin automatically creates a named OneDrive folder for the applicant, uploads all submitted documents into that folder, writes the applicant data into a shared Excel table, and generates a formatted .eml email snapshot for record keeping.

The system also includes conditional routing rules, allowing records to be sent to the correct Excel sheet based on field values such as session preference.

Results and Impact

The final solution removed the need for manual document handling and spreadsheet entry, saving significant time for the client’s team.

It reduced human error, improved record organization, and created a reliable automated workflow for managing student applications at scale. The client can now process submissions faster, with all files, data, and email records stored in the correct place automatically.
